Subdivision Maps
The County of Hawaii has separated the subdivision into two Tax Map Key (TMK) maps. The western map portion includes properties fronting on Wright Road, Olomea Road (Road A), Ke Koa Nui Blvd (Road B), Liko Lehua Road (Road C), the western side of Kalaninauli Road (Road D), and Laukapu Road. The eastern map portion includes properties fronting on Olomea Road (Road A), the eastern side of Kalaninauli Road (Road D), Kawailehua Road (Road E), and Laukapu Road.
For road condition surveys and maintenance purposes, each road has been divided into sections – as shown on the maps. The two main access roads are each divided into four sections, and the four cross roads are each divided into five sections. The sections vary between 425 feet and 525 feet long. Each road was originally designed and constructed to be sixteen feet wide. In many areas over time, invasive vegetation and owner plantings have reduced this pavement width. It is the intent of the Board, as roadway improvements are completed, to restore the original width.
Rights-of-way are forty-feet (40’) wide for all roadways except Kalaninauli Road, which has a fifty-foot (50’) wide right-of-way. To minimize roadway deterioration, and help facilitate roadside maintenance, it is important to keep all private plantings and landscaping out of the rights-of-way. This means that twelve feet (12’) (or sixteen feet (16’) for Kalaninauli Road) on either side of the original pavement edges should be kept clear. (In many locations, the original pavement edges have been overgrown by vegetation).
The maps also show developed lots having addresses assigned by the County. To be complete, the addresses must have the ’19-‘ prefix added, indicating the zone and section numbers of the tax maps.
